David Burton
An experienced government leader with expertise in policing and operational management, specializing in law enforcement, employee misconduct investigations, policy development, and critical incident management. Proven track record in leading complex government operations, ensuring organizational effectiveness, and fostering collaboration across public safety sectors.
My Story
David Burton has been involved in law enforcement for over thirty-five years.
During that time, he has worked within multiple units and divisions inclusive of patrol, investigations, K-9, youth, marine, and has served as the commander for both a regional tactical team, and a dive team.
His experiences have included crafting and participation in regional initiatives, as well as an
extensive grant writing background.
He is an active participant in community policing programs and has implemented outreach and
inclusion programs where none previously existed.
For the last 18 years, he has occupied a position within agency senior leadership positions, serving as a police chief with two organizations, where he was tasked to conduct assessment reviews, budget preparation, fleet programs, accreditation standards, policy and procedure updates, and implement strategies designed to move the agencies forward.
David holds a BS in criminal justice from Charter Oak State College, an MS in criminal justice from Southern New Hampshire University, and is a graduate from the FBI’s national academy,
